Attempting to explain Phoenix’s issue with Amare Stoudemire
Every time the Phoenix Suns discuss trading Amare Stoudemire, people outside of the Valley of the Sun begin to question why a team and their fans would want to get rid of one of the most talented power forwards in the league. It's a question I've been asked numerous times and I never could really give an answer [...]

Roadtripping with The Phoenix Coyotes
It's only 4 days till my roadtrip with the Coyotes. Having only seen my guys in their natural habitat of Jobing.com arena, it will be a thrill to experience their play elsewhere. Friday, February 12th marks my entry into Colorado Avalanche territory. Pepsi Center as it is known in Denver (not THE Pepsi Center as I have found out), is the home of the Avalanche. The arena is 11 years old and holds just over 18,000 [...]

Uncertainty around Suns is actually exciting
I don't know what to expect in 2008-09 from the Phoenix Suns. Call me crazy, but that's kind of exciting. Especially after the last three seasons, when I wished that I had a universal remote that had the power to fast forward through a seemingly endless regular season to get to the playoffs. I knew when the season started, the Suns were a playoff team. I [...]

Haren baffles Giants in 2-0 win
The Skinny: Dan Haren will turn 28 years old tomorrow. On Tuesday night, he gave himself and fans of the Arizona Diamondbacks an early gift. Haren pitched his first ever complete game shutout, and tied a career-high with 12 strikeouts, as the D-Backs won their 2nd straight over the Giants 2-0 at Chase Field. Haren, who had only 5 complete games in his previous 151 big league starts, threw 117 [...]

D-backs, like Cowboys, should blame Jessica
The Arizona Diamondbacks' collapse isn't a result of poor pitching, strikeouts or even bad outfield defense. No, the Arizona Diamondbacks collapse is all a result of one Jessica Simpson. Now that I've thoroughly confused you, let me explain. Jessica Simpson will be performing for Diamondbacks' fans following tomorrow nights loss game against the Reds. When the Diamondbacks announced the concert on August 18th, their record was 65-60 and they [...]

D-Backs visit Dodgers with 1.5 game lead
The National League West could very well be decided this weekend at Chavez Ravine as the Arizona Diamondbacks visit the Los Angeles Dodgers. The two teams met last weekend in Phoenix, and the Dodgers took two out of three to cut further into the D-Backs' division lead. Since taking the last two games at Chase Field, the Dodgers went on to sweep San Diego, while the Diamondbacks were taking two out [...]

Calm down Wildcat fans
The University of Idaho football team is probably wishing the weather that delayed the beginning of their game Saturday in Tucson against the University of Arizona would have just continued. Forever. It would have been a better outcome than what actually happened. Arizona scored 35 points in the 2nd quarter alone, and whitewashed the Vandals 70-0. It's really impossible to find any criticism of Arizona's performance or bright spots in Idaho's. [...]

Dodgers visit Chase for “crucial” matchup
Alright, forget that nonsense I wrote previously about the National League West race being one of the most intriguing in baseball down the stretch. The entire division has turned even more laughable in the past week, with both the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers bumbling on the baseball diamond. The Diamondbacks are 12-13 in the month of August, and have picked up a game and a half since the beginning [...]

Cardinals to visit “Black Hole”
Did you ever think you'd see an Al Davis team run the football 62% of the time? That's exactly what they've done through two weeks of the NFL preseason. But young Raiders' head coach Lane Kiffin wants to see his quarterbacks air it out this week, as the Silver and Black play host to the Arizona Cardinals. The Raiders rank 30th out of 32 teams this preseason, averaging just 127 [...]

Who is the poster boy for Phoenix pro sports?
I started thinking today about the Phoenix pro sports scene, and the amount of star power here in the Valley. We have 2 NBA MVPs, 2 Cy Young Award winner, 3 NBA Rookies of the Year, an NFL and Super Bowl MVP and a Heisman trophy winner all who now call Phoenix home. Just from a resume' standpoint, few cities around the country can stack up to that. I further thought about what makes [...]
