Pitchers and catchers have yet to report to the Arizona Diamondbacks' spring training facility in Tucson, but Brandon Webb's 2010 work has already begun. Webb, who is coming off of right shoulder surgery, threw off a mound for the first time since going under the knife. From all accounts the session went well. “It was good to get him into the next phase of his rehabilitation," said Diamondbacks [...]

If you had one "big money" contract to give next season in Phoenix sports, would you give it to Amare Stoudemire, Brandon Webb or Anquan Boldin? It's a great question which was first posed by KTAR's Dave Burns on last night's 620 Sportsline (which for my money, pun intended, is the best sports radio show on in this state). It takes a lot to make me [...]

Anquan Boldin isn't exactly pleased he didn't play Sunday in Chicago. (Photo: Paul Connors/UPI)
It was the perfect day for Cardinals management on Sunday: Not only did the Cardinals beat the Bears in Chicago – the place Bill Bidwill regards as the franchise’s home more than St. Louis – but they did it in grand style with as dominant a first half as they come. And once the big lead was built – except for a few anxious moments when Matt Leinart somehow stumbled on the field – the [...]

It’s not a far stretch to compare the city of Phoenix to hell with temperatures that top 110 degrees in the month of July. While the temperatures soar, Phoenix sports plunges into the depths. The true hell in Phoenix right now isn’t the high [...]

Photo: Doug Pensinger/Getty Images Spring Training is here! The Arizona Diamondbacks are just one week way from their Cactus League opener against the Colorado Rockies in Tucson. So, which Diamondbacks will we see? The upstart bunch from 2007 that advanced to the National League Championship Series, or the team that resided in first place of their division for over three quarters of the 2008 season, only to fade [...]

Having spent close to 6 hours at Chase Field this past Saturday, I couldn't be more proud being a D-Back fan. A tour of the home team clubhouse started things off. Nice to actually see the lockers of Brandon Webb, Dan Haren and Chris Young. While inside the clubhouse, MLB Network was reporting about Alex Rodriguez allegedly testing positive for steroids. Yesterday, A-Rod confessed to Peter Gammons of [...]
