Who is the poster boy for Phoenix pro sports?
I started thinking today about the Phoenix pro sports scene, and the amount of star power here in the Valley. We have 2 NBA MVPs, 2 Cy Young Award winner, 3 NBA Rookies of the Year, an NFL and Super Bowl MVP and a Heisman trophy winner all who now call Phoenix home. Just from a resume' standpoint, few cities around the country can stack up to that. I further thought about what makes [...]

Suns vs. Kings vs. NBA?
Now that Mike D'Antoni has departed for the Big Apple, and with last season's trade of Shawn Marion for the Big Shaqtus, it appears we have reached the end of the "seven seconds or less" Suns era. It was an exciting and entertaining four-year run, but it was never validated with an NBA title. The comparisons to those, for lack of a better phrase, Bibby/Webber-led Sacramento Kings teams have now become ubiquitous. [...]

Who Suns Fans Should Root For In Western Conference Finals
What would you do if you were forced to choose between having to fund Charles Barkley's gambling or wash Jason Giambi's thong after an extended slump? For Suns fans that decision is easier than picking a team to root for in the western conference finals. Kobe and the Lakers versus Duncan and the Spurs. It hurts just to read it, let alone watch it right? As a Suns fan who [...]

Suns Lose Game 2 and Possibly Series
Once again, the Suns game into San Antonio firing at all cylinders. They looked good. They looked poised. They looked like a bunch of ticked off, slighted, emotionally-driven avengers who had nothing but victory on their agenda. And then the first half ended. Going into half time leading the Spurs 61-54, the Suns carried the lead and momentum. They were positioning themselves for a solid victory and [...]

Suns fans’ worst fears materialized as Spurs take game 1 of the series in 2OT
(Ronald Martinez/Getty Images) The San Antonio Spurs made all their key shots late in the game, both in regulation and in 2OT, to beat the Phoenix Suns 117-115 and take game 1 of the best-of-seven series. Michael Finley's 3-pointer tied the game at 93 with 15 seconds left in regulation. Tim Duncan's first 3-pointer of the year tied the game in the first OT with 3 seconds left while Manu Ginobili's [...]

Adventures in Benchsitting
End of the Phoenix Suns bench. Pick a game. Any game. Sean Marks: I can't believe Skinner is getting a few minutes tonight. Eric Piatkowski: Forget all that shit, look at that blond in the fourth row. DJ, you think they're built for speed or for comfort? DJ Strawberry: staring at jumbotron. Huh? Yeah, I'm ready. Put me in [...]

Suns clinch playoffs spot with win in Memphis, 127-113
(AP Photo/Lance Murphey) Amaré Stoudemire, starting at center in place of the resting Shaq, scored 28 points (10-for-13 shooting) added 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the Suns past the Grizzlies 127-113 last night in Memphis. Sandwiched between Dallas on Sunday San Antonio today and Houston on Friday, the only real danger of facing Memphis would have been a possible lack of focus and effort. "We really have [...]
