Denver Roller Dolls wins roller derby’s Four Corner Feud
23 02 2009
In a very exciting finish, the #4 seeded Denver Roller Dolls worked their way all the way through three rounds to take the first Four Corner Feud in Colorado Springs by a final score of 182-64.
The final bout would start off with a 15 point jam by Denver’s Sheila Tack in a power jam as PPDD’s DeRanged gets sent to the penalty box. Denver’s Justka would come in and add 5 more and then Angela Death for Denver would add some additional salt to the wound taking the score to 30-0.
Pikes Peak would get their first score as Kamilla Bloodspilla would get the lead jam, score 1 and call it off. It’s now 30-1, Pikes Peak.
With about 12 minutes remaining in the first period, Pike’s Peak PsychoBabble was ejected from the game due to insubordination (use of the middle finger). 57-22.
By halftime Denver would have already racked up over 100 points to take a commanding lead, 103-40.
With Denver ahead 145-52, Angela Death would be solo jamming for Denver. With Denver at the short end of a 5 on 3 jam, Angela Death would get caught up and pass the star to Theresa “Wicked Sister” Rusk. Then in the same jam, PPDD’s Kamilla Bloodspilla would re-enter the jam and then winds up passing the star to her pivot. It’s very rare that you see a double star-pass in a single jam.
The margin would cross the century mark with about 5 minutes remaining, Sheila Tack solo jamming for Denver. Susie QT would eventually re-enter the jam and winds up having to pass the star to Pepper Slay who picks up 4 and Sheila calls off the jam. 165-59, Denver.
The game would end with a final score of 182-64 in favor of Denver.
