The Phoenix Mercury have suspended guard Diana Taurasi for two games without pay for conduct detrimental to the team.
Taurasi’s suspension follows three drunk-driving related charges, including extreme DUI, for a July 2 incident in which she also was cited for speeding.
The team announced that Taurasi will begin serving her suspension in the Mercury’s next game on Saturday, July 18 versus the Detroit Shock and will conclude with its matchup against the Minnesota Lynx on July 22.
In 15 games this year, Taurasi has averaged 20.7 points per game, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.
