What do you get when you combine three Suns fans with not a whole lot of basketball to talk about, New Year's Eve, and a thrown together at the last minute discussion? This week's podcast with asterisk, that's what. Over on the right of this page, you can hear us discuss the ridiculous schedule this week, the signing of Dee Brown, Shaq's All-Star status, an inconsistent bench, [...] Read the story »
Montana to Rice, Manning to Harrison, Barnes to Barbosa
December 30th, 2008 9:58 PM
Thanks to LB and Shaq, the Suns took care of business tonight against the Grizzlies despite Amare getting stupid ejected and Nash resting his sore back. The team played from behind all night and didn't wrap things up until just a few minutes remained, but a win is a win. It's always good to see the Suns beat the teams they're supposed to. One play [...] Read the story »
Chicken or the egg?

Bill Simmons wrote an interesting piece on Steve Nash and how his success is so greatly tied to a system. The system discussed of course, is Mike D'Antoni's. Here's the gist of Simmons' argument: Steve Nash isn't the same player without Mike D'Antoni. To which I say, well, DUH. You mean to tell me the same player in a brand new, methodical system won't put up the [...] Read the story »
Pick and Roll: Letters to Sun-ta
December 24th, 2008 10:55 AM
Steve Fan had a fantastic idea for this week's Pick and Roll feature. We've both penned letters to Sun-ta, letting the big fella know what we'd like for Christmas this year. Mark's letter... Dearest Santa, I want so much, there's almost too much to list. Here goes: the Suns dancers. All of them DE-FENSE! DE-FENSE! DE-FENSE! Steve Kerr and Terry Porter have proved to be completely full of it so far. We're still waiting for [...] Read the story »
Suns/Spurs missing the sizzle
December 22nd, 2008 11:48 AM
Christmas Day will be here Thursday and with it, the latest chapter in the Suns/Spurs storied rivalry. As we all know, the Spurs have really done a number on the Suns these last few years, especially in the playoffs. So much in fact, they've blurred the lines on whether this matchup really constitutes a rivalry. This year's game feels different though, and even if the Suns had come out on top in just one [...] Read the story »

Christmas and New Year's are almost upon us and with it, a jumbled mess of a writing schedule. Steve Fan and I will have our Pick and Roll (visit Sons of Steve Nash for this week's installment) devoted to "Letters to Sun-ta" ready on Wednesday, but beyond that, I'm not sure what next week holds. Except for some homemade eggnog that can degrease an engine block. It isn't quite Christmas yet, but we're close enough for [...] Read the story »
