It was NBA.com’s “Dunk of the Night” and the number two play on their Top Ten plays of the night (somehow a halfcourt shot by Terrence Williams of the Nets beat it out, because, you know, that was a big play in New Jersey’s 63rd loss of the year?)
And it turns out that it was a pretty important play in the Suns’ 133-131 win over the Golden State Warriors in Oakland.
Amare Stoudemire absolutely embarrassed Golden State’s Anthony Tolliver, taking a pass from Jason Richardson on the break, and literally dunking on Tolliver’s head. The three-point play with 2:37 remaining tied the score at 122.
Many close to the team, including Richardson, who delivered the assist, said it was the best dunk of STAT’s career.
Watch for yourself…
