Bryzgalov shuts the door on the Canes: Coyotes 4 Hurricanes 0

Colorado Avalanche v Phoenix Coyotes

This picture says it all…

Bryzgalov was put into the spotlight last night as he denied wave after wave of the potent Carolina Hurricanes attack stopping all 29 shots he faced. In addition, Ilya Bryzgalov now holds the lead in NHL shutouts for the season with eight, he tied the franchise record for shutouts in a single season with eight, AND the Coyotes set a team record for most wins in a season, since moving to Phoenix, with 41.

The Coyotes came into Raleigh, North Carolina facing one of the Hottest teams in the NHL and came out with one of Bryzgalov’s best overall performances of the season. This kind of performance from Bryzgalov was needed as the Coyotes defense were allowing shots on goal from some of the most dangerous Hurricanes players.

On the offensive side of things, the Coyotes new players are fitting in perfectly with the offense as Lee Stempniak and Martin Hanzal scored a couple of beauty goals over the course of the game (see the ‘Game Hi lights’ video).

The thing that amazes me the most about the Coyotes offense is that the team is starting to click at the right time.

The Coyotes are playing tomorrow afternoon against the Atlanta Thrashers. Game time is 2:00 PM Arizona time.

Game hi lights
