Ray Romano, George Lopez, Josh Duhamel, Andy Garcia and Alice Cooper to play in FBR/Xerox Pro-am

GOLF 2009: San Diego Celebrity ClassicPHOENIX, Ariz. – Comedian/actor Ray Romano, comedian George Lopez, actor Josh Duhamel, actor Andy Garcia and rock-n-roll legend Alice Cooper will be the celebrities to play in this year’s Waste Management Phoenix Open FBR/Xerox Pro-Am, which tees off at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24th on the TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course.

Actor, writer and stand-up comedian, Ray Romano will make his Waste Management Phoenix Open debut. Romano is best known for his roles on the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond and in the Ice Age film series. He currently stars on the TNT Comedy-Drama Men Of A Certain Age.

A regular on the PGA TOUR, Lopez will be making his fourth appearance at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Lopez is one of the premier comedic talents in the industry today, selling out concert venues from coast-to-coast. He has crossed over into the acting industry, appearing in television programs and major motion pictures. Lopez is currently the host of the late night talk show Lopez Tonight on TBS. He was the co-creator, writer, producer and star of the ABC television series George Lopez, and has starred in movies such as The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, Real Women Have Curves and Naughty or Nice. In 2005, Lopez was recognized by Time Magazine as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Hispanics in America, and was named a Top 10 Television Personality by the Harris Poll.

Josh Duhamel will be making his third consecutive appearance at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Duhamel’s new movie When in Rome premiered January 29th in which he co-stars with actress Kristen Bell. His second movie of 2010, Life As We Know It, is scheduled to be released December 22nd. Duhamel first achieved acting success in 1999 as Leo du Pres on ABC’s All My Children and later as the chief of security, Danny McCoy, on NBC’s Las Vegas. He is also well known for his role as one of the protagonists, Captain William Lennox, in the box office hits Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Duhamel is married to Fergie, a pop star with the band The Black Eyed Peas.

Actor Andy Garcia will be making his Waste Management Phoenix Open debut. Garcia has appeared in several successful films, including The Godfather: Part III, The Untouchables and When a Man Loves a Woman. More recently, he has starred in Ocean’s Eleven and its sequels, Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen, and The Lost City.

Alice Cooper, a rock singer, songwriter and broadcaster whose career spans more than four decades, returns to the Waste Management Phoenix Open after a decade absence. The avid-golfer lives in Scottsdale and plays regularly at the TPC Scottsdale Champions Course.

Tee times for Wednesday’s FBR/Xerox Pro-Am will be from 8:30 through 10:30 a.m. Exact tee times for participating celebrities will be announced on Tuesday, February 23rd.

The Waste Management Phoenix Open will be played February 22 – 28, 2010, at the TPC Scottsdale. The tournament host Thunderbirds have raised more than $65.9 million for charities, with more than $37.9 million generated since 2004. The 2010 edition will mark the 75th playing of the event, making it one of the five oldest events on the PGA TOUR (not including the major championships).
