When Jason Richardson sank a 3-pointer just 1:49 into Monday night’s game at Utah, Steve Nash added another bullet point to his already impressive NBA resume.
The assist was the 8,000th in Nash’s career, joining just seven other players who have reached that mark during their careers.
For good measure, Nash added 13 more assists on the night, but they weren’t enough as the Suns blew a 17-point 3rd quarter lead and lost to the Utah Jazz 124-115 at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City.
In case you were wondering, Nash got his first NBA assist in his second career game, back on November 2, 1996 in a 110-95 loss to the Houston Rockets.
Nash and the Suns are back at it Tuesday night as they host the Charlotte Bobcats at U.S. Airways Center.
