In a piece by Washington Post staff writer Michael Lee this morning, there are rumblings that the Phoenix Suns have shown interested in struggling Wizards’ forward Caron Butler. Whether the interest in Butler is new, or carried over from last summer is unclear.
Butler, a 2-time All-Star, is averaging 16.7 points per game (4.1 off his 2008-09 pace) and is shooting just 41.4% from the field, which is the 2nd-lowest percentage of his career.
The oft-injured Wizards have played just 13 games this season with their big three, Butler, Antawn Jamison and Gilbert Arenas, on the court–and they’ve gone just 4-9 in those games, possibly re-igniting trade talks.
