thanksgiving-feastBen York has already given you five things you should be thankful for as a Phoenix Suns fan. I’m here to tell you why the meal you are preparing to eat on Thursday is a lot like the .

That’s right, your favorite NBA team is like a fulfilling Thanksgiving dinner.

The team and their fans have been roasting the “Big Turkey” since July.

If turkey isn’t your thing, Lou Amundson, Channing Frye and Jarron Collins are like the ham or tofu substitute (tofurkey, anyone?), not quite as heralded, but good enough to get the job done.

is the mashed potatoes, a solid and reliable compliment to everything else on the table.

Jared Dudley is the gravy for the Suns, that little something extra that ties the meal together.

Goran Dragic is like the green bean casserole someone always seems to bring, it looks like it could be good but you just aren’t sure about it’s consistency.

Taylor Griffin, Earl Clark and Robin Lopez are like the napkins and silverware, they’re there when you need them but they aren’t anyone’s main focus.

The meal finishes off with a nice pie, in the Suns case Leandro Barbosa. Comes in after the main course, but it’s just as good.

Like years worth of Thanksgiving dinners, the Suns season will leave you feeling satisfied some nights, wanting more others, unsatisfied on the rare occasion and hopefully never physically ill.

So when you sit down on Thursday to have your turkey with a side of and covered with Jared Dudley, think about the thing you should be most thankful for in Phoenix sports, the .
