Uninspired Devils Drop Pivotal Swing Game

Share

This blog post will be about as inspiring as the Arizona State Sun Devils effort was in tonights 33-14 loss to Stanford.

Here are the facts. The Sun Devils defense came to play for one half.

The offense came to play for zero minutes.

Danny Sullivan struggled mightily again and ended up on a trainer’s table.

Brock Osweiler, admittedly, wasn’t all too much better.

The play-calling, imaginative and outgoing seven days ago, went back to something to the effect of the high school play book from Super Play Action Football.

The secondary struggled. The linebackers bit on every single play-action bootleg Andrew Luck ran.

The first tackler was unable to bring down Toby Gerhart a single time.

This game dumbfounded me on so many different levels that I’m pretty much unable to put together any thoughts longer than a sentence, if you haven’t noticed.

And, in the interest of complete honesty, by the way this team played tonight, we can kiss any shot of a victory goodbye until UCLA comes to town the Devils visit UCLA on November 21.

More insight tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, because I want the last 3 hours and 10 minutes of my life back.
