When the Arizona State Sun Devils last visited Stanford in 2007, Danny Sullivan was a sophomore backup quarterback playing behind firmly entrenched starter Rudy Carpenter.
The Sun Devils easily beat the Cardinal 41-3, and Sullivan got garbage time duty, completing his only pass of the night–a 7-yarder to Jeff Gray.
Two years later, things are little different. Sullivan, from nearby Los Gatos, California, is the Sun Devils’ starter, and as a senior, is looking forward to leading the Sun Devils in front of a large contingent of hometown fans Saturday night at Stanford Stadium.
“This game is gonna have a good contingency of Los Gatos people there,” Sullivan said Monday. “I’ve kinda had this one circled on my schedule for a while because it’s my only chance to show people what I’ve transformed myself into and what I can do for ASU.” Sullivan threw for 2,435 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior in leading the Los Gatos Wildcats to the Central Coast Section Medium School championship in 2005.
Here’s Sullivan’s Monday press conference from October 19th…
