Oh Sasha, we hardly knew you.
Every once in a while, a player puts a stamp on a franchise that is so indelible, an era ends when that player leaves.
With that being said, here at Fanster.com, we take a look back at the Suns’ career of Sasha Pavlovic.
5. June 25, 2009 - The Phoenix Suns trade reigning All-Star co-MVP Shaquille O’Neal to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Ben Wallace, $500,000 cash and guard/forward Sasha Pavlovic.
4. September 15, 2009 - The Suns reach a buyout agreement, or as the team puts it, a “contract divorce” with Sasha Pavlovic, thus ending his career with the Suns.
3. Ummmm……
Ok, so there’s not 5. But the Suns did make it official today, reaching a buyout agreement with the swingman, which essentially completes the O’Neal deal. According to Suns’ beat writer Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic, the deal turned out to be quite the money saver for the Suns.
This now leaves the Suns’ roster at the league minimum 13 players.
Head coach Alvin Gentry and the Suns open training camp in San Diego in less than two weeks.
