Diamondbacks’ All-Star outfielder Justin Upton, who went on the disabled list back on August 8th with an abdominal injury, has been activated by the club and will be in the starting lineup tonight as Arizona continues its 3-game series in San Francisco.

Upton played just two games with the Class-A Visalia Rawhide during his rehab stint, but was productive in the two games. Upton drove in 6 runs, including a grand slam off of San Jose pitcher Oliver Odle in a 12-3 win on Tuesday night.

The injury sidelined Upton for a total of 17 games, in which the Diamondbacks went 6-11.

Left-handed reliever Daniel Schlereth was optioned to Triple-A Reno to make room for Upton on the roster.

Mark Reynolds once again is not in the starting lineup tonight for the Diamondbacks. Reynolds has missed the last two games with flu-like symptoms, but he could be available for pinch-hitting duty if needed tonight.

Doug Davis (7-11, 3.77 ERA) is on the hill for Arizona facing San Francisco’s Jonathan Sanchez (6-10, 4.30 ERA).

Here are tonight’s starting lineups…
