D-Backs visit Reds at Great American Ballpark

greatamericanballpark Back in early May, when the Cincinnati Reds made their one and only visit to Chase Field to play the Arizona Diamondbacks, it wasn’t pretty for Arizona.

The Reds swept the 3-game series by a combined score of 26-9, handing the Snakes their first 3-game sweep of the year.

Tonight, the venue is different and the Diamondbacks will try to exact some revenge as they visit the Reds for 3-games at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.

The Diamondbacks come in reeling after being swept by the Los Angeles Angels over the weekend. Arizona is 30-46, and 18.5 games behind the Dodgers in the National League West. If there is a spot of optimism, it’s that Dan Haren will take the hill for tonight’s series opener. Haren is 6-5 and leads the National League with a 2.25 ERA. He’ll be faced by Reds’ righty Bronson Arroyo, who despite having an ERA more than 3 runs worse than Haren’s, is 8-6 and tied for 2nd in the NL in victories.
