The Wiener Races at Phoenix Greyhound Park are here again! The 13th Annual Wiener Races will be held this Sunday, May 24th at PGP, starting with the Wiener Parade at 3:30 p.m. The first race gets under way at 5:00 p.m., and the finals will be held at approximately 8:00 p.m.
All proceeds from this year’s event got to benefit Arizona Adopt A Greyhound.
The races feature dachshunds competing on a 50-yard course in 8 different time trials, with the top two wieners from each heat moving on to the final, where the winning wiener gets $250 in prize money and the title “Fastest Wiener in Arizona”.
Admission is $2 for adults, and children 12 and under are free.
