Did the Suns give up last night?

Can anyone tell me why after Barbosa made a layup to cut the lead to 5 with :17 left, the Suns didn’t play defense or foul? They just let the clock run out.

Look it’s unlikely you’re going to win the game, or even send it to overtime, but it’s potentially a two possession game if someone misses a free throw or the Suns come up with a steal.

It just looks like they starting waving the white flag on the rest of the season by not at least trying to force something in the last :17.

Oh well.
