ASU junior point guard Derek Glasser talked to the media today, two days before the 23rd-ranked Sun Devils take on their in-state rivals, the Arizona Wildcats in the first round of the 2009 Pacific Life Pac-10 Tournament at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Glasser, who tied for the Pac-10 lead in assist-to-turnover ratio with UCLA’s Darren Collison, spoke on many topics, including:
- What it was like to have teammates James Harden and Jeff Pendergraph named to the All-Pac-10 team.
- Is there extra motivation knowing that a win could knock U of A from the NCAA Tournament?
- Are there similarities between U of A’s position this season, and where ASU was a year ago heading into the Pac-10 Tournament?
- Are the Sun Devils more relaxed this season going into the conference tourney?
- On the injury to sophomore guard Jamelle McMillan, and how the Devils will cope if McMillan can’t play on Thursday.
- Why is it so difficult to beat a team three times in one season?
- How special it is for a kid from the L.A. area to play on the big stage at the Staples Center.
