Scottsdale resident Geoff Ogilvy and former Arizona State star Paul Casey will meet on Sunday in the final of the World Golf Championship-Accenture Match Play Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Marana.
Ogilvy advanced to the final by beating Rory McIlroy 2 and 1 in the quarterfinals, and later on Saturday breezing past Stewart Cink 4 and 2. Ogilvy’s career record in the tournament is now 16-2.
Casey’s path to the final was paved on Saturday with a 4 and 3 victory over Sean O’Hair in the quarterfinals, and a 2 and 1 win over Ross Fisher in the semis.
Both golfers are members of Whisper Rock Country Club in Scottsdale.
