As Promised, Video of Ben Doing the Carlton Dance After the Suns Win

Share

If anyone out there has ever questioned how huge of a Suns fan I am, this post should completely bury those beliefs.

Now, something you should know - I do this kind of stuff all the time during Suns games, and I’ve posted before that my overall mood is reflective of the state of the Suns.  Sometimes I make up my own dances; they’re either happy dances or angry dances.  I have one I made up called the “Suns-Weak-Side-Help” dance.  Basically, it’s just me acting like I’m drunk and wandering around looking at my ceiling while flailing my arms.  Sometimes I imitate others (like Carlton Banks).  The sad part (well…”’sad” depending on who you talk to) is that I haven’t done much “happy” dancing this year.  However, I have good reason to bust out my happy moves of late.

Without further adieu, as promised here is video of Ben doing the Carlton Dance after the Suns won.  This was shot in my Suns room and yes it’s really me…and yes, I fully expect to get made fun of consistently for quite a while.

If you are still reading, thank you. Now to the actual game.

I knew the Suns weren’t going to come out and be as good as they were yesterday.  They are on a 2nd night of a back-to-back and our new-coach-post-break high will inevitably wear off.  Hopefully slowly.

Not really much to talk about.  Kind of an ugly good game.  Shaq even led the break at one point and dished to Nash for a lay-up and even that was somewhat uneventful.  Amare got hit in the head with a pass by Barnes.   Dragic played more than 10 seconds again.  Rebounding was better.  Pace was faster.  Energy was there.  Scored almost 70 again in the first half with a quiet 29 of Amare’s points also coming in the first half.  Suns gave up their lead and gained it back.

Eh.

Hey I’m not complaining - I did the Carlton Dance I was so happy!  One thing is clear, whether right or wrong, the change in coach and style has given the Suns a boost.  And obviously, it couldn’t have come at a better time.

One plus we, as fans, can all take from the Suns turmoil is that our players are much more “rested” at this point in the season than in recent years.  Thus, if Gentry sticks to playing a 9-10 man rotation we’ll be in pretty good shape (rest wise) heading into the playoffs (hopefully).  Gotta look at the bright side folks.  After reading about 239 posts/blogs/articles about how we should “not get too excited” I have chosen to completely ignore those people and…get excited.  Why not?  Should I just remain miserable even when we’re winning?  Nah.  After the roller-coaster season we’ve had thus far, I’m going to let myself go.  They’ve scored almost 300 points in 2 games…soooo…yeah I’m excited.

So two wins a row for the Suns, a 2-0 start for our new coach, and a little shred of hope and belief for Suns fans.  Yeah…I’d say that gives me something to dance about.
