Meredith Viera goes against the grain

It seems that at this time of the year, everyone, and I mean everyone becomes a football expert. With Super Bowl XLIII in just a few days, people have opinions, and by God we’re going to hear them.

The Today Show on NBC is no different. Today the panel of Matt Lauer, Meredith Viera, Al Roker and Ann Curry shared their opinions of what will happen in Tampa on Sunday…kind of. Each member of the show made their fearless predicition on SB XLIII, and the just like in every group of people, there wasn’t a whole lot of love for the Cardinals. Curry started things off and didn’t hesitate when she picked the Steelers, and everyone’s favorite weather man Roker agreed. Lauer sat on the fence, saying that he thinks the Steelers will win, but is rooting for the Cinderella Cardinals. That left only one prediction.

Meredith Viera went out on a limb, and picked the Arizona Cardinals to become World Champions. She didn’t offer any breakdown or analysis (which means she could do Chris Berman’s job)…she just picked the Cardinals.

Of course, this doesn’t amount to a hill of beans, but I thought Cardinal fans would like to know who’s on their side going into Sunday’s big game.
