Great weekend checklist:

• Suns depants the Mavericks on Friday night…CHECK
• Cardinals stomp the previously undefeated at home Carolina Panthers to advance to the NFC Championship Game…CHECK
• Eagles stifle the Giants to set up a date in Glendale with the Arizona Cardinals…CHECK
• score seats to the NFC Championship game…CHECK
• Suns beat the Clippers (yawn)…CHECK

It was a great weekend.  Scratch that, it was a fantastic weekend.  When I thought it couldn’t get any better, it did.  Again and again (except for the Suns/Clips game.  Boring.)

Neil Paine of Basketball Reference is having none of my happiness though.  He’s taken me down a peg or two, naming not one, but two Suns teams as the best squads to not win a title this decade.

When it comes to the sports world, It’s tough to find worse phrases/words than “what if” and “almost.”  With the leaving the bench suspensions of Amare and Boris, and Joe Johnson’s broken face, the 2007 and 2005 Suns cover them both perfectly.

Why don’t you kick my dog while you’re at it, Neil?
