BMX Champ Heffron gets votes in Fanster Phoenix Athlete of the Year

Gilbert’s Brock Heffron, the UCI BMX Racing World Champion, received votes in Fanster.com’s 2008 Phoenix Athlete of the Year Award, which was handed out earlier this week. Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback Kurt Warner won the first-ever award, while Heffron was the only youth athlete to receive votes from the panel of 19 Valley media members and sports bloggers.

Heffron, if you didn’t know, was also Sports Illustrated For Kids’ Youth Athlete of the Year for 2007, and appeared on the cover of the magazine with Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Peyton Manning.
