Unbelievable. Just what the Suns needed - more distractions. For a re-enactment of my reaction to seeing the Jason Richardson article, I called upon Dan Marino.
I was on the phone talking to a client, surfing the web, and as soon as I read the headline…well…just watch below and you’ll get the idea of my reaction. I went from calm to crazy in about 2 seconds.
According to azcentral, “Richardson was stopped at 2:48 a.m. at the Loop 101 freeway and Thomas Road, according to citation filed at West Mesa Justice Court. He also was accused of failure to drive in one lane and speeding. The ticket said the officer clocked Richardson traveling 65 mph in a 55 mph zone as he headed south on the freeway in a white 2008 Mercedes Benz.”
Why we are hearing about this now, I’m not sure. Either way, it’s not good news. Anyone remember what happened to good ol’ Cliff Robinson when he was arrested on a DUI?
UGH. Of course this happens as the Suns are building chemistry and have a chance to make a splash in the West. Of course this happens as we finally are beginning to figure out our identity. Of course this happens to the Suns in the midst of all the controversy that has been surrounding them all season.
Maybe I’m freaking out too much, but this could really put a damper on a good thing. Maybe it will all blow over and the good news is that he wasn’t arrested…just accused.
Either way, crap.
