Cards’ fans need a push to buy tickets

Share

As of this posting, the -Atlanta Falcons playoff game is in danger of being blacked out on local television. The Cardinals reported yesterday that 3700 tickets remain for the franchise’s first home playoff game in 61 years, and that they’ll need to be sold by 2:30 Phoenix time today for the blackout to be lifted.

Six decades without a home playoff game is embarrassing enough. The inability to sell out said game would make the Cardinals a bigger laughingstock than they already are.

The reasons fans aren’t buying seats are many…the economy’s bad, it’s right after Christmas, who wants to see the Falcons? We here at Fanster can’t pass judgment on why fans aren’t shelling out their hard-earned dough for tickets. But we can offer up a little boost to motivate fans to do so.

A lot of Cardinal fans are lacking some confidence heading into the game. The national media and football fans around the country have claimed that the Cardinals have no business even being in the , with their 9-7 record in the league’s worst division. And they didn’t exactly instill confidence in the fan base by getting blown out by Minnesota and New England in weeks 16 and 17.

But it’s not all bad, Arizona faithful. The Cardinals have a pretty favorable matchup against a young team that was considered the worst in the league heading into this season. They are on their home field, and they had a lot of highlights this season (listen below)…

Pumped up now, aren’t you? You’ve got until 2:30 to buy tickets, Cardinals fans. Otherwise, we’ll be packing up the Fanster van and scouring for tickets in Glendale at 2:00 tomorrow, or heading up to a sports bar in Flagstaff. Hell, maybe we’ll just break down and buy tickets now. This montage has us pumped too.
