Cardinals Send Five to Hawaii

The Pro Bowl rosters were announced today and it was good news for the Arizona Cardinals. For the first time since 1977 the Cardinals have 5 Pro Bowlers. I believe the last time they had more than two was 1996. So I’m pretty happy about that. All five players selected will be starters also.

• Anquan Boldin
• Larry Fitzgerald
• Kurt Warner
• Adrian Wilson
• Sean Morey

Sean Morey made it on as a special teams player and that counts as a starter. I’m assuming he made it on because of the popular blocked punt to win the game against Dallas. Good enough for me. All those guys really deserved it and I’m real happy both Anquan and Larry made it at the same time. Usually in the past it’s one or the other. This will be both Fitzgerald and Boldin’s 3rd trip to Hawaii. It will be Adrian Wilson’s 2nd trip. Sean Morey’s 1st trip and Kurt Warner’s 4th. So good job to all of them, they deserved it.

Darnell Dockett and Karlos Dansby will be alternates for the NFC. Both players have an argument for being on the team but I think this is fair. Dockett probably had a better year than Pat Williams but I can’t complain too much. Dansby is about where he should be which is an alternate. Although I would have put him on ahead of Derrick Brooks. Brooks didn’t have near the year Dansby did but that’s what happens sometimes, the more popular player gets voted in. Quite frankly Karlos not making the Pro Bowl was a good thing for the Cardinals, now his price tag won’t be as high during the offseason when they’re trying to resign him.

Congratulations once again to all the players that made the Pro Bowl, and those who are the alternates still have a real shot at showing up to the game. A lot of players decide not to make the trip every year. So hopefully that happens so we can see Darnell and Karlos there.
