On November 15th, 2008 Optimistic Clothing Co. and Phoenix Skateboards hosted The Annual Fall Jam at Rio Vista Skate Park. With the help of Kaboom Energy Drink, Pennybridge, The Core, Pulse Board Shop, Alliance Skate Shop, Arnette, Navigator Trucks, Deville Wheels and many others the event went smoothly with some killer prize packs for the winners and some free hand outs.
The competition was a jam session format with nearly 70 participants entering the 10 and under, 11-16 and 16 and up age groups. Each Jam session was 5 minutes long with the top riders advancing to the next round. When it was all said and done Shane Short finished 1st in the 10 and under age group with Sage Placing 1st in the 11-16 age group, Rayce Davis placing 1st for the 16 and up age group and Mark McCoy winning the best trick.
The overall event was a major success with approx. 450 people in attendance. Optimistic Clothing Co., Phoenix Skateboards, Kaboom Energy Drink, The Core and Alliance Skate Shop had booths both handing out free product. Shane Davis was the MC and kept the crowed hyped throughout the event while playing a good mix of music. There was also a free BBQ with hot dogs and hamburgers for everyone at the event.
For the 2009 Fall Jam Optimistic Clothing Co. and Phoenix Skateboards look to make the competition even larger, more fun and exciting with larger prize packs for the skaters and more hand outs.
Both Optimistic Clothing CO. and Phoenix Skateboards would like to thank all that attended the event and EVERYONE who helped in any kind of way. Look for Optimistic Clothing Co. and Phoenix Skateboards in your local skate shop and help support Phoenix, Arizona!!
