With the Cardinals set to take on the 49ers at University of Phoenix Stadium tonight we had a chance to go Behind Enemy Lines with the San Francisco Chronicle’s John Crumpacker.
1) What changes have you seen since Mike Singletary took over the 49ers head coaching position?
John Crumpacker of the San Francisco Chronicle: Singletary wants his team to be more physical and emphasize a power running game with Frank Gore. The 49ers will use Michael Robinson at fullback but other players will also fill this role as a blocking back.
2) When the Cardinals and 49ers played in Week 1 JT O’Sullivan was the starting Quarterback. Tonight Shaun Hill will be behind center for the 49ers. What does Hill bring to the offense that O’Sullivan didn’t?
John Crumpacker of the San Francisco Chronicle: Hill is vastly different from O’Sullivan. He doesn’t have as strong an arm but he’s steadier and a better game manager and not prone to the kinds of mistakes O’Sullivan made.
3) Coming off the Bye week did the Singletary and the 49er’s coaching staff make any major changes to their game plan?
John Crumpacker of the San Francisco Chronicle: Changes: Adam Snyder at right tackle, David Baas at left guard (he started for the first time in Game 7). Robinson at fullback. Practice squad WR Dominique Zeigler activated for first time this season.
4) Is there one player on the 49ers that Cardinals fans may not be familiar with but should keep an eye out for tonight?
John Crumpacker of the San Francisco Chronicle: TE Delanie Walker could factor in the passing game. Robinson could receive direct snaps in a Wildcat formation.
