We’ve put together a list of the hottest skate parks in the Valley.
- Chandler Skate Park:
The facility, which opened on May 5th 2007, is located at 4500 S. Busha Rd. in Chandler. It is home to amenities such as concrete bowls, decks, rails, blocks and shaded area. The park is a free use, non-supervised facility that amasses 35,000 square feet.
The Chandler venue is open from 7 AM to 10:30 PM in the summer and from 8 AM to 10:30 PM in the winter and is closed until 3 PM on the last Wednesday of every month.
View Larger Map - Desert West Skateboard Plaza (Phoenix):
Located at 6602 W. Encanto Blvd. the Desert West Skateboard Plaza (so proper sounding) is the only park dedicated to skateboarding in Phoenix. The park opened in 2000 and includes curbs, rails, bumps, hips, fun box, steel edged ledges, three different bowls, shade structures and a Gatorade machine. The plaza is open daily from 7am-10pm and pads are required. It is a skateboard only facility.

This 22,000 square foot skating park is home to plenty of of skating amenities including 5 bowls, grind boxes, kinked ramp and a roller ledge. This park is open from 8 AM to 10 PM and pads are not required.
The park is located at Lindsay & Juniper roads in Gilbert.

- Foothills Sk8 Court Plaza (Glendale):
The Foothills Sk8 Court Plaza is the crown jewel of skating in the West Valley. With such amenities as a fun box, bumps, a 9 foot two level bown, street scape and a 5 ft bowl it has everything a skater could want in a park. The newest features include an on-site concessions stand and a pro shop. Pads are suggested but not required.You can find the plaza on 57th Avenue and Union Hills in Glendale and it is open 9 AM to 10 PM daily.

The skate park in Goodyear is one of the newest in Arizona. Helmets are required at this park but bikers are not allowed and there are security guards on the premise. The parks hours are different than most. During the summer it is open from 7 AM to 10 AM and from 6 PM to 10:00 PM.
The facility is available for rental with a maximum rental size of 50. For 1-25 people the cost is $20/hour and for groups of 26-50 skaters the cost is $40/hour.
The park is located at 3151 N. Litchfield Rd. in Goodyear.

- Pecos Park (Ahwatukee):
This skatepark includes grinding ledges, blocks, pump bumps, looped rams, bowls, flatbars, and a street plaza. The park was created for both the beginners and advanced skateboarders. It is open to both in-line skating and skateboards. Helmets are not required. Skateboards are limited to 34 inches in length.
The 29,000 square foot facility is open from 7 AM to 10:30 PM everyday and is located at 17010 S. 48th St. in Ahwatukee.

- Reed Park Skate Court (Mesa):
This seven year old park has 31,000 square feet of skating area. It includes a large open skating area, a donut bowl, boxes and pyramids. Helmets and pads are recommended but not required.The park has additional amenities including water fountains, restrooms and shaded overhang.
Bikes, boards and blades are all allowed at the facility.
It is located at 1601 E. Broadway in Mesa and is open daily from 8 AM to 9:45 PM.

This park was voted the top skate park by the Arizona Republic in 2008. The 28,000 square foot park was opened in 2004 and includes a street plaza, blocks, grinding ledges, flat bars, sloped rams, bowls
and more. This park has aspects good for skaters with skills ranging from beginning to expert.The park is open from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.
