Check out the big brain on Lou!

According to Louis Amundson’s wiki page, the dude graduated cum laude from UNLV “with a bachelor’s degree in university studies with areas of study in English and philosophy.”

Now, you’re probably thinking a couple of things.

First, who uses wiki as a bona fide source? I do, that’s who. As far as I’m concerned, if it’s on the wiki, it’s a FACT. Don’t you know the internet knows all? Jeez. To quote Kramer after telling of Racquel Welch dropping stage lights on people’s heads, “story like that has got to be true.”

Next, cum laude from UNLV. Big deal, right? Well, take it from someone who lasted a shade under a decade at that bastion of higher education, Arizona State University. Graduating cum laude, even if it’s in glorified general studies, is no small feat, especially with a focus on philosophy. Poor Lou was probably forced to sit through lectures on the works of Michel Foucault. More sympathetic, I could not be.

I applaud Lou for working as hard on the court as he does in the classroom (this isn’t sarcasm) and think it would be great for him to complete his second degree in finance.

The next time you see Lou dive for a loose ball, crash the boards, and hustle on defense, remember that his mama didn’t raise no dummy.
