Shaq, how does this muzzle taste?

Via BSotS comes Shaq’s latest stylistic mumblings.

Shaq’s always been known as a guy with a great big sense of humor, and who knows, maybe he got on a roll and was just messing around. It doesn’t really matter though. Point is, what he says is no longer significant.

He’s been saying a lot of stupid things for a long while now and has always been at bare minimum, just off the wall enough to be entertaining. Unfortunately, his skills and effectiveness on the court have diminished, and with that, so has the attention span of the basketball world.

With his career winding down and his injuries piling up, his time in the spotlight slowly but surely fading, Shaq likes nothing more than to hear himself talk.

The real shame of it is that for casual NBA fans, he’s the face of the Suns franchise. This shouldn’t matter all that much, but because the Suns franchise has always been the epitome of class, it does. With his Kobe rap, harassment charges, and insistence on mumbling his special brand of stupidity every now and then, the Big Saguaro is knocking the Suns franchise down a notch or two in the area of professionalism.

What’s more, with this team making such a transition, chemistry has never been more important. Shawn Marion may have been moody and even childish at times, but he was the last guy who would throw his teammates under the bus.

It’s difficult enough integrating a mountain of a center who won’t admit he isn’t the player he once was onto a team undergoing a facelift. It’s doubly so when said center can’t keep himself from popping off.
