Wildcats steamroll Huskies en route to share of 1st in the Pac-10

The Arizona Wildcats dominated the Washington Huskies 48-14 Saturday night in Tucson, to the jubilation of a relatively mild Wildcat crowd.

, was an efficient 17 for 21, for 193 yards and 3 TDs. Rob Gronkowski, looking to continue his Pac-10 prowess, caught five passes for 109 yards and 3 touch downs. And the defense completely stuffed a depleted Washington team missing quarterback, Jake Locker, who was out with a broken thumb.

The Cats moved to 4-1 on the season and now hold a share of 1st place in the Pac-10. Their only blemish on the season, their road loss against New Mexico, seems to be distant memory.

There was no doubt that this was a signature win for the Wildcats. They did not play down to their opponent, and they did not let up. The Wildcats did what they had to do and showed glimpses of a team that may have finally turned the corner.

But was this a case of the Wildcats finally coming of age, or a Washington team slipping out of control? Has the Wildcat’s success been a result of their patsy schedule or a true testament to their accent in the Pac-10?

The answers will all come in the course of the next three weeks.

So let’s not get all ahead of ourselves and declare them Rose Bowl bound just yet. This team, for as good as they have been this year, still have a lot left to prove. The Wildcats are last year’s Sun Devils. But hey, for once Cat’s fans are not complaining that they just got compared to ASU…

On the sidelines:
David Hasselhoff at the Arizona Wildcats Game
David Hasselhoff makes another appearance at a UofA football game..this time around he shows up in the student section about mid-way through the 1st Quarter. Security comes over to…um yes that is right get autographs.

Two minutes later Hasselhoff is on the field filming himself on his flip cam with the student section chanting “HASSEL—HOFF.” One of the more bizarre things I have ever seen at a game…
