D-Backs’ bats fall asleep again in a 3-1 loss to Braves

The story line: Jeff Francoeur launched a 2-run walk-off home run off D-Backs reliever Chad Qualls in the Braves 3-1 victory Saturday at Turner Field.

The underlying story line: The Diamondbacks offense has narcolepsy. After exploding for 5 homers and 11 runs in Friday’s series-opening win, the Arizona ‘o’ produced one run, and only 3 hits.

Diamondbacks player of the game: Randy Johnson. The grizzled lefty went 6 strong innings, striking out 10, only to get an undeserved no decision.

Somebody get a bucket of ice-cold water, the D-Backs offense needs a rude awakening if they want to finish strong in Atlanta.
