(SHERYL NIELDS/ICON INTERNATIONAL)
It’s that time again Arizona sports fans. It’s time to give you all the stuff we couldn’t fit in our typical 8 hour day (and by 8 we mean 11 but who’s counting? We are so we can file for overtime). See we couldn’t fit it in because we were too busy finding out that Scarlett Johansson can’t sing (Who cares if she can’t sing as long as the album cover is hot right?). We also learned that Major League Baseball should hire this as it’s new mascot and that people have way too much time and money on their hands (It’s called a webcam people try using it instead of a giant telescope). Now without further BS here is the sports news and views you may have missed:
- It’s time to find the next Jenny Finch at the Women’s College World Series [TheAngryT.com]
- No Way KJ? Some people in Sacramento really don’t want Kevin Johnson as Mayor [NoWayKJ.com]
- Arizona is playing host to two intriguing regionals (see above for the candidates from the “Next Jenny Finch list” who will be playing in each game) [ESPN.com]
- Even though the Suns are out of the playoffs you can still vicariously stalk Raja Bell [SportingNews.com]
- ASU golf team heads from Arizona to Indiana To Play in NCAA tournament (yeah it didn’t seem right to us either. First they steal the Super Bowl and now apparently they have better golf courses) [ CSTV.com]
- One guys take on Pac-10 baseball and softball RedwoodCityDailyNews.com]
- ASU’s loss is UofA’s gain in men’s tennis [Explorernews.com]
- Hey there is still pro basketball in Seattle? Storm Vs. Mercury preview [SeattlePI.com]
- Rattlers to give away free playoff tickets, or lots of money back to fans [OurSportsCentral.com]
- Haley to call plays that Matt Leinart will screw up (Sorry Matt we believe we just couldn’t resist) [AZCentral.com]
- Maybe there is hope for UofA hoops, ASU’s Glasser has knee surgery [EastValleyTribune.com]
- MLB to test instant replay in Arizona Fall League (sketch artist to be used due to lack of television coverage and cameras) [SportsByBrooks.com]
- Mike Stoops on the hot seat in May according to CBS Sports (At least let the poor guy start 1-4 before he’s on the hot seat) [CBSSports.com]
