The Next Time Mike D’Antoni Sees a Ping Pong Ball Will be too Soon

Share

I would venture to guess former Suns coach Mike D’Antoni never again wants anything to do with the NBA Lottery. Apparently, the New York Knicks and David Stern didn’t have any tricks up their sleeves, as his hopes for Derrick Rose were dashed and the Knicks were awarded with the 6th overall pick in a shaky draft.

This is not the first time the NBA Lottery has left a bitter taste in D’Antoni’s mouth. Let’s not forget the darn near impossible happening last year, as the Hawks were awarded the 3rd overall pick in the draft, making their pick protected from the Suns as part of the Joe Johnson/Boris Diaw deal and setting off simultaneous screams of “YOU’VE GOT TO BE FRIGGIN’ KIDDING ME!” across the Valley of the Suns.

It’s possible that it’s just the luck of the draw and D’Antoni has simply had a run of bad luck. It’s also entirely possible that David Stern hates mustaches. However, the best explanation is the NBA Draft Lottery is broke and it needs fixing.
