He was wrong and now I will never go back to him as a source again. This time an actual credible source (Len Pasquarelli), has reported that the New York Jets have signed former Arizona Cardinal Calvin Pace to to a 6 year $42 million deal. The crazy part is the Jets gave Pace a signing bonus of $20 million and $22 million in guaranteed money. Calvin had a nice year for the first time in his career. But I doubt he’s worth the money the Jets threw at him. I know they play slightly different positions but I rather have Jonathan Vilma who the Jets traded for a 4th round pick over Calvin Pace.
Calvin Pace will be a nice player for the Jets, but I don’t think he’ll live up to the money he was given. New York has some issues and I don’t think throwing this much money at a solid OLB will change much. I would have liked for the Cardinals to keep Pace, but again for this much money I don’t think it would be worth it. If the Cardinals would have signed Pace right away after the season they could have got a bargain for him. But, with the issues of the Fitzgerald contract the Cardinals organization couldn’t get that done.
