photo courtesy of azcardinals.comIt appears that soon to be former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Bryant Johnson, will be signed by the Buffalo Bills. According to channel 4 news in Buffalo, Johnson and the Bills have come to terms. It was expected that Johnson was going to get big money thrown at him in free agency, so it was very unlikely that the Cardinals would resign him as a 3rd wide out. Johnson has the speed, size, and good rout running ability to be a solid number 2 receiver in Buffalo. Unfortunately, B.J. doesn’t have the hands to be a number 1 in the NFL, so I hope the Bills aren’t expecting that from him. Depending on how much Buffalo gave Johnson, I think this is a solid pick up for a team that needed a WR.
Bryant Johnson did some nice things for the Cardinals, But ultimately I’d consider him a disappointment for a first round pick. Yes, he was competing with Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin for catches, but that’s not an excuse for dropping many big passes over the years. B.J. has a lot of potential but has yet to live up to what he’s capable of being. Maybe in Buffalo Johnson will blossom into a great receiver in this league. B.J. always seemed like a good guy and I wish him the best.
