Suns “just incredible”, Beat the Wiz 122-107

Nash v. Wiz(AP Photo/Kevin Wolf) The Suns are on a roll! We have a streak now. After scoring 136 in Toronto and 121 in Indiana, the Suns settled for 122 while beating the Wizards for the fifth straight win and improve to 16-4. 122-107 was the final in DC and it looked much better than that, it was in fact such a dominating performance that Wizards coach Eddie Jordan perfectly summed up after the game: “Just incredible”.

The Suns are passing the ball as great as one could remember: 42 assists on 50 field goals, must be some kind of record. All that great passing creates open shots and easy baskets. Check the highlights and have a look at Stoudemire’s scoring (27 points 12-of-14 from the field) on dunks and layups all night long. Raja added 22 points (including six 3-point baskets), Hill had 18 and Barbosa 20 off the bench. For the second straight night even DJ Strawberry played a couple of minutes.

Of course, it all starts with Steve Nash as QB#14 is putting on a great show every night. Steve had a season-high 19 assists last night following 14 vs Orlando, 15 vs New York, 17 vs Indiana, 18 vs Toronto. Nash is leading the League at over 12 assists a night.

It’s the traditional Eastern road trip winning streak, playing against a bunch of inferior opponents. The Suns’ plan against those teams is pretty clear by now…(1) tip-off (2) run fast (3) half time (4) run faster (5) win.
The Suns led by just 5 at the half but, as it has already been the case in Toronto, they just come out of the half time break at full speed: this time they scored 40 points in the third quarter to put the game away.

The Suns will now complete their Eastern 5-game trip with a game in Minneapolis tonight (6 PM) against the worst team in the League, the 2-15 Minnesota “Celtics”. Solid chance of making six in a row and head back home on a high note and a big smile.

Yours truly, Steve Fan
