Flagstaff – The Arizona Sundogs and Rocky Mountain Rage faced off Saturday night at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colorado, with the Rage defeating the Sundogs 5-4 in overtime. In their first of seven meetings during the 2007-08 season, The Rage opened up a 1-0 lead just 51 seconds into the contest as the Sundogs coughed up possession of the puck on their own blue line.

The second period would see both teams collect two goals each. In a Sundogs-dominated third, Arizona pulled back to within one on their second power play goal of the game from Redenbach at 3:58 of the period. In the overtime session, Rocky Mountain received their fifth power play chance of the night and took advantage, converting with 44 seconds left in the extra frame for the 5-4 win. Tyler Butler was credited with the game winner, with the assist going to Brett Cullaton. The Sundogs finished their first road trip of the season with a 1-1-1 mark. They now return to Arizona to take on Southwest Division opponent, the Amarillo Gorillas on Halloween night at Tim's Toyota Center…

The Lumberjacks bring the Cross Country title back to Flagstaff from Montana. The men's and women's cross country teams both locked up the Big Sky Conference titles on Saturday, scoring the men's individual champion and the women's second place finisher. Placing all of their scorers in the top ten, the men's team tallied 22 points for a solid victory over the second highest total of 55 from Weber State. In the women's 5k event, senior Lesley Van Miert, posted a time of 17:38.2, which earned her second place, overall.

NAU accepted their sixth conference trophy since 2000, totaling 18 for the men and 14 for the women, in school history… UM got some revenge on Northern Arizona however, as third-ranked Montana remained undefeated with a 21-16 victory over Northern Arizona Saturday at the Walkup Skydome. NAU scored its only touchdow of the game with 4:42 left in the fourth quarter on a 8-yard run by Alex Henderson. NAU added two field goals as the Grizzlies lead 7-6. The Lumberjacks travel to Montana State next week.
